ChitChat Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

ChitChat connects people for one-on-one conversations by video and by message. Doing that involves handling some personal data. This page explains which data, what it is for, who else is involved and what you can ask us to do about it.

1. Who this covers

Everyone who uses chitchatgg.live, as a guest or signed in, in a browser tab or from a home-screen icon. It applies from your first visit, because a guest session is created as soon as the site opens.

2. Data you provide or create

  • A guest identifier generated on your first visit, together with your display name and language.
  • Sign-in details, if you choose to sign in. We receive what is needed to recognise you again, not the password to any outside account.
  • Profile content you add, such as a photo or a short description.
  • Messages you send to other people, the list of people you follow and the list of people you have blocked.
  • Reports you file and emails you send to support, including anything you attach.
  • Purchase records if you buy coins: the pack, the amount, the date and a reference from the payment provider. Full card numbers are handled by the payment provider and do not reach us.

3. Data collected automatically

  • Device and browser information: type, version, screen size and language settings.
  • Network information such as your IP address, which also gives an approximate country.
  • Usage information: pages opened, matches started, rewards claimed and similar events, used to keep the service running and to understand what is working.
  • Cookies and local storage, described in the cookie policy.

4. Camera and microphone

Video chat needs your camera and microphone. Your browser asks for permission before the site can use either, and you can withdraw that permission from the browser settings at any time. Audio and video are used to carry the call between you and the person you are talking to.

5. What we use data for

  • Running the service: creating your session, matching you with someone, delivering calls and messages, translating typed messages.
  • Keeping your things in place: follows, messages, free matches and coins.
  • Safety: handling reports, enforcing the community guidelines and preventing fraud or abuse.
  • Support: answering the questions you send us.
  • Improving the site: measuring what is used and fixing what breaks.
  • Meeting legal obligations, including record keeping for payments.

6. Who else is involved

We use service providers to run parts of ChitChat, for example for hosting, content delivery, live video connections, message translation, payments and analytics. They handle data on our instructions and only as far as their task requires.

Other users see what you show them: your display name, your profile content, your messages to them and, on a call, your video and audio. We may disclose data to authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.

7. How long data is kept

For as long as it is needed for the purposes above. A guest session that is abandoned eventually lapses. Payment records are kept for the period the law requires. When you ask for your data to be erased, we remove or anonymise it unless we are obliged to retain some of it.

8. Your choices

  • You can use ChitChat as a guest without giving a real name.
  • You can refuse or withdraw camera and microphone permission in your browser.
  • You can clear cookies and site data in your browser, which ends a guest session.
  • You can ask to see, correct, export or erase your personal data by emailing [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject.
  • Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to certain uses or to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Age

ChitChat is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor is using the site, tell us at the address above.

10. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date. Questions about privacy go to [email protected].
